About Oasis

Oasis is happy to announce that
James Perritt, MSN, RN, PMHNP-BC has joined our staff.

Mr. Perritt received his bachelors of science in nursing degree from the University of Maryland. He completed his masters of science in nursing at the University of South Alabama, concentrating in psychiatric nursing across the lifespan. Mr. Perritt spent 12 years as a psychiatric nurse at Johns Hopkins Hospital working on an in-patient unit specializing in eating and mood disorders.

His clinical experience includes work with children and veterans. He is a board-certified, registered nurse practitioner in psychiatric mental health.

Oasis: The Center for Mental Health was founded in 2004 for the same reason it excels today: to provide timely access to mental health care for children, adolescents, adults and families in a private, comfortable setting.

What makes Oasis unique?

We strive to schedule appointments within 72 hours. Oasis provides a much-needed alternative to stressful emergency room visits and long waits for doctors’ appointments in times of crisis.

Full Range of Services: Our experienced team of board certified psychologists, psychiatrists, clinical social workers and nurse practitioners is committed to your care and recovery. We offer psychiatric testing, an on-site psychiatrist and a dedicated Child and Adolescent Team. We also offer free, confidential screenings for anxiety and depression for ages 13 and above on a walk-in basis (weekdays only).

Convenient Hours: We are open 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. M-F and 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturdays, by appointment. Oasis also offers walk-in hours (no appt.) on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 12 noon.

Patient Advocates: Our patient advocates assist you from the initial appointment through the duration of your treatment, answering questions and providing additional help and resources. They’ll also coordinate with your primary care physician to ensure continuity of care.

Streamlined Scheduling: After your initial evaluation, we’ll schedule all the appointments recommended by your provider, so you can count on getting the prompt attention you need.
