Support
Oasis extends compassionate support to family members of the client, providing valuable links to services within the community that offers support, education and comfort. Our organization provides urgent after-hours mental health care in a private and comfortable setting.
Oasis was founded by a group of concerned citizens and health care professionals in response to the growing lack of mental health care resources in the community. Mental health issues are frequently not publicly addressed, resulting in a lack of services for those most in need of critical treatment and support.
Oasis provides Psychiatric Evaluations and Medication evaluations with psychiatrists, psychotherapy, group therapy, and testing with social workers and psychologists.
Treatment
Psychiatry
Psychiatric evaluations- Our psychiatrists provide a one hour initial evaluation for new patients. It is during this evaluation that the psychiatrist makes a diagnosis and determines the course of treatment
Medication checks- Our MD’s conduct follow-up visits for patients on medication to evaluate the efficacy of the medication and to make sure the symptoms seen in the initial evaluation are responding to treatment. These visits are between 15 and 30 minutes, depending on the need. Medication checks continue while the patient is on medication.
Referral to community psychiatry for follow-up treatment. Oasis patients are typically followed by our psychiatrists for short-term treatment. At that point, they are stabilized or referred for long-term treatment to a primary care physician or psychiatrist in their community that accepts their insurance plan.
Psychotherapy
Therapy- patients are seen by psychologists, licensed clinical professional counselors, or licensed clinical social workers for short-term therapy. Oasis uses a short-term model for treatment, focusing on helping the patient return to pre-crisis level of functioning.
Referral to community for follow-up treatment. If further treatment is required, the patient is referred to a counselor in their community that accepts their insurance plan.
Testing
Our psychologist is available to conduct testing on patients interested in further diagnostic information regarding mental health symptoms, ADD, or ADHD.
